Once again, the team at the Thorncliffe Park Women’s Committee organized a fun Winter Carnival, now in its 11th year, for all to enjoy in R.V. Burgess Park.

The role of women in Thorncliffe Park and newcomer neighbourhoods across Canada cannot be understated. Working together, they create the community supports crucial for young students and ensure that needs of families are being met.

Supporting our community women’s organizations also goes a long way to creating safe and constructive environments for new women in Canada. Our government’s investment of $100 million over five years in the Women’s Program will increase the sector’s capacity to support women in their communities, as well as provide funding for organizations focused on vulnerable women, including newcomers.
