We are very fortunate to be in Don Valley West, home to over 50 beautiful parks and parkettes. This summer, I want to encourage you to go out and visit them. To make it easier, our office created the DVW Parks App with every parks and parkettes in the riding to help you find out more.
Through the app, you can send us your wonderful pictures from your visits! The images submitted, with your permission, will be displayed on my social media to showcase the beauty of Don Valley West's Parks. Check out the app at https://donvalleywestparks.ca/ or by clicking on the image below!
You can also watch my stream where I introduced the app and showcased beautiful drone footages of our green spaces here: https://fb.watch/79lnrnL3DC/
I recognize that Don Valley West is situated on the traditional terriotory of many nations, including the Missisaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Wendat peoples. The city we call Toronto is covered by treaty 13 signed with the Missisaugas, the Williams Treaties signed with many Missisauga and Chippewa bands and is the enduring home of many Indigenous people who continue to make Toronto the vibrant city it is today. I also acknowledge that the land known as Canada has been home to many First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples for millenia and we must commit, and recommit to reconcilliation at every opportunity
