The Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program is one of the most effective ways for non-profit organizations, community based groups and small businesses to hire students for the summer months. The federal government provides direct subsidies of up to 100% to non-profit and community based organizations and up to 50% to small businesses to cover the wages of summer students. In 2025, the federal government provided direct funding of over $1.7 million for 340 summer jobs in Don Valley West.
Through the CSJ program students from 15 to 30 years of age receive meaningful work experience which will help them in their future endeavours and organizations benefit from having direct funding to hire students.
