With David Lametti, M.P., Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade
Talk 2
On November 5, 2015, the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) text was released to the public. The government has since engaged to sign the TPP but has not decided whether to ratify the agreement. Signing is the first step in a process that will allow the TPP to be tabled in Parliament for consideration and debate before any final decision is made. The TPP only comes into force if it gets the support of a majority vote in the House of Commons.
The Government of Canada is committed to being transparent, open and consultative with Canadians on the TPP. This consultation will give you the opportunity to discuss and analyze the TPP with your Member of Parliament.
