Thank you to everyone from across Don Valley West who gathered yesterday at Leaside United Church on Millwood Road to discuss their thoughts and views on the future of Canada’s National Defence policy with Rob and the Hon. John McKay M.P., Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Defence.

The meeting generated valuable input and advice for the government’s defence review. Mr. McKay provided participants with a first-hand overview of the challenges facing Canada. Participants discussed the challenges facing Canada’s security, the role of our armed forces and the capabilities needed to carry out the mandate of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Rob will be hosting a number of Democracy Talks throughout the end of the summer and into the fall to engage the community in Don Valley West in important discussions that are happening across Canada. The topics of these talks will cover a wide range of initiatives being planned by our government, from climate change to electoral reform. Many discussions will have special guest speakers to provide expertise on the subject at hand.
