Consultations On Canada`s National Security Framework

I am travelling across Canada with the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security, which I Chair. We will be listening to Canadians and experts, gathering their opinions regarding Canada’s national security framework. The last major revision to the Framework was under the previous Conservative government, which they did through the adoption of Bill C-51 without any consultation with Canadians.

The federal government wants and needs Canadians’ input on key elements of Canada’s national security laws and policies to ensure they reflect the rights, values and freedoms of Canadians while keeping us safe.

I encourage you to attend the Committee’s Toronto Hearing:

Wednesday, October 19
Radisson Admiral Hotel Toronto – Harbourfront
249 Queens Quay West – Admiral Ballroom

Witness Panels: 2:00pm-4:00pm

Open Mic-Session: 5:30pm-7:30pm
