Great to have Bardish Chagger in Don Valley West to visit Northlea Public School. Always inspired by the great ideas and questions from Grade 5 students, this time about creating a more welcoming and sustainable society in our community.

The pure acceptance and progressive thinking of these future leaders was refreshing. Just like the students of Northlea, we all need to ask what can be done to help those settling in Canada after completely uprooting their lives when they flee persecution.

Budget 2019 is a step in the right direction with its revitalisation of Canadian affordable housing. In addition, our government’s new home retrofit program, designed to help people lower their electricity and energy bills, will help refugees lower their cost of living and impact on climate change.
