Best way to start Monday morning? Meeting my young bosses at Thorncliffe Park Public School. Many thanks to Riffat, Afrana, Toronto Foundation for Student Success, (TFSS) and volunteers like Jamie Harnish from Bosley Real Estate for organizing the breakfast and morning meal programs supporting 2000+ students! I am inspired by the commitment of TFSS to bettering the lives of students and creating avenues for their success. Their goal of reducing inhibitions to student achievement, such as poverty and hunger, will go a long way to help children overcome barriers to success.

Hard-working families deserve to be able to provide the best start in life for their children and that’s why our government introduced the Canada Child Benenifit (CCB). The CCB gives more money, tax-free, to 9 out of 10 families. We are increasing the CCB again starting July 20th 2019, to give more money to Canadians for what matters most—their kids. Thanks to the CCB, 300,000 children have been lifted out of poverty since 2015, giving us the lowest level of poverty in Canada’s history.
