Canada Summer Jobs Participants In Don Valley West
August 15, 2019

I have greatly enjoyed visiting several fantastic businesses and community organisations that have hired young people from our community through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

Hearing from youth who have gained constructive employment through our government’s funding this summer has been informative and rewarding.

The Canada Summer Jobs program is helping build community and making sure kids in Mount Pleasant Village have a fun and engaging summer at Maurice Cody Child Care at Maurice Cody PS.

Pawsitively Pets for Kids provides a very fun summer for youth hired through our government’s Canada Summer Jobs program, a very interesting summer for kids in Leaside, and a caring environment for pets!

I had a cooking lesson and an important discussion about the first-ever #FoodPolicy4Canada as I dropped by Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute to meet youth hired through the Canada Summer Jobs by summerlunch+ #EveryoneAtTheTable

I was greeted by some very excited students at Masjid Darus Salaam’s summer program, which is made possible by our government’s Canada Summer Jobs grant. Happy campers and engaged summer staff make for a great summer. Islamic Society of Toronto

Flemingdon Community Legal Services provides vital legal support to our community. This summer, our government is supporting FCLS’ mission of ensuring access to legal services in Thorncliffe Park and surrounding neighbourhoods by funding Zach and Iris through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

The Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf helps address opportunities for education, independent living and meaningful interaction for the deaf. Their Canada Summer Jobs grant has helped hire many youth, including two George Brown College students, to support the work of BRCCED this summer.

Youth hired through our government’s Canada Summer Jobs program at CNIB Ontario are gaining experience in accounting and HR this summer while helping to grow the organization. Thanks for having me!

Check out this video of young people in Don Valley West hired through Canada Summer Jobs teaching me some new kitchen skills!
