July 15, 2021 COVID-19 Vaccine Updates
July 15, 2021
Dear friends,

More Canadians are getting vaccinated every day. As of July 12, our government has distributed over 50 million vaccines to the provinces and territories. By July 16, we will have received 55 million vaccines in Canada.

We hve distributed over 19 million vaccine doses to Ontario and over 17 million vaccine doses have been administered to Ontarians.

We have come a long way. But, there is more to do. The provincial government has announced that Ontario will enter Stage 3 reopening as of July 16. This is a time for cautious optimism, measured action and sensible planning.

Most of the new hospitalizations with COVID-19 are people who have not been vaccinated. With the ongoing, regular public health messages urging people to get vaccinated, this is disheartening news. I have said before that no one is safe until everyone is safe. That is as true today as it was at the start of the pandemic.

Our health care and front-line workers have put their lives on the line to keep us safe. Many of them lost their lives to COVID-19 in performing their jobs. We must keep vaccination rates climbing; the momentum must continue. The progress we have made within Don Valley West and within Canada cannot be stalled because people have not been vaccinated.

We have come so far - let's all reach the finish line.

Stay safe,

Rob

VACCINE DISTRIBUTION TO ONTARIO

Over 50 million vaccine doses have been sent to provinces and territories. Over 43 million vaccine doses have been administered across Canada, and over 78% of eligible people have received at least one dose.

By July 16, 2021, Canada will have received 55 million vaccine doses. Through our relentless procurement efforts, we will ensure accelerated vaccine deliveries and stable supplies for all people who are eligible to receive a vaccine.

POP UP VACCINE-CLINIC

The COVID-19 vaccine clinic is open at the Thorncliffe Park Community Hub, 45 Overlea Blvd. between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. daily.

MIXING VACCINE DOSES

All vaccines which have been approved in Canada have undergone a thorough and independent review. The National Advisory Committee on Immunization has found that the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) are safe for use as a second dose for those people who received AstraZeneca for their first dose.

GET VACCINATED

COVID-19 vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and your loved ones against this deadly virus.

Although we will still need to follow public health protocols even after receiving the vaccine, you can do your part by getting vaccinated and encouraging your family and friends to get their vaccines.

We have come very far in the fight against COVID-19. Now is not the time to stop the fight.

Please remember that no one is safe until all of us are safe.
